Small Business Apps, well I guess technically they’re not just for small businesses. I use these apps for my business and personal. I’m an app junkie. I love to try out apps and then choose my favorites. I’ve narrowed down my huge list to just the 5 I can’t live without.
5 Small Business Apps I Can’t Live Without
1 – Wave Accounting – FREE
After researching several different options from QuickBooks to Outright to just using Microsoft Excel, I chose Wave Accounting. It had several good reviews from other blogs and it was free. I was able to find tutorial videos that made everything simple. It has invoicing built right in too.
2 – ASANA – FREE
There are a lot of options for tracking tasks out there. When I found ASANA, I knew I was done searching. You can assign tasks to different people, attach documents, create subtasks and it integrates very nicely with Harvest which you can use for time tracking (I know, another app).
3 – PicMonkey – FREE*
PicMonkey is such a simple tool to use for creating images for your blog posts and website. You can find several different tutorials on YouTube as well. It is free to use, but some of the extended features require purchase of their annual subscription for $33. You can do a lot with the free version and it’s a lot easier for me to open PicMonkey that it is to open Photoshop.
4 – Dropbox – FREE*
Dropbox is cloud storage you can access from anywhere. You can earn up to 18 GB of storage for free. If you need more than that plans start at $9.99 per month. You can share files and folders with others as well.
5 – Boomerang – FREE*
Boomerang might be my favorite app. It helps me take care of my client’s e-mails and it helps me stay organized. I often respond to e-mails late at night, but that might not look too professional nor is it very nice to be filling my client’s inbox after hours. Boomerang allows me to write my e-mails and schedule them to be sent at a later time. It also works great for sending meeting confirmation e-mails for my client. If I know about all the meetings for the week, I can draft them all up at one time and schedule them to be sent out as appropriate.
Another great feature is that you can tell Boomerang to remind you of messages that need attention. For example, if you sent a message to someone and need their reply, you can set Boomerang to remind you that you’re still waiting to hear back if you haven’t by your specified date/time. Or, let’s say you have a message that you need to respond to but you don’t have time at that moment. You can set Boomerang to put that e-mail at the top of your inbox at your specified date/time so you don’t forget.
Boomerang is free to up to 10 messages per month. If you need to manage more than 10 messages, you will need to upgrade to the professional subscription for $14.99 per month.
I hope you found a new app to try and that it helps you in your business. I would love it if you would share what apps you find the most valuable in your business in the comments below.
